After being used mainly for military applications, drones now play a role in a wide range of activities carried on by enterpreneurs, PMIs and big companies.
Some of these activities are: shipping and delivery, geographic mapping, agricultural or emergency management monitoring, assets maintenance for infrastructures and networks.
The autonomous driving systems are a part of the broader application field of Artificial Intelligence, which provides the tools necessary to a drone to fly without a pilot.
Developing systems capable of drone fleets real time management is crucially important. These systems provide the tools to display drones activities through time, their exact position and the status of their operations.
GeoDrones4D is a part of a more complex system providing these features. The software is made of two modules: a simulator and a viewer.
The simulator generates the flight paths inside a selected area on a 2D map (tha paths are always different and not closed).
A broker (ActiveMQ) delivers the generated coordinates to the second module, which displays the drone flight on 2D as well as 3D maps. The drone will be displayed in different colours based on its speed.
